As the class concludes and I reflect back upon 21st Century Teaching and Learning there are several things I learned from this class that I plan to incorporate in to my professional teaching. One of the most meaningful items I took from this class is the use of the LoTi Level Framework when creating a project or assignment. Using the LoTi as a guideline allows teachers to bring technology projects and technology classroom assignments to the highest level for student learning and student engagement. It serves as a clear guide to elevate current projects, knowing that if these guidelines are followed it does not only produce a better product for the students, it is a reflection of the teacher’s ability to adapt to the technology world.
Another thing I learned while in this class was the value of feedback. This is the first class I have taken where giving feedback was a portion of the class grade. I think feedback is a terrific way to reinforce what is learned. It allows for the opportunity to see how others interpret the assignments, and feedback is an additional teaching tool for myself to, learn from others, whether I am giving or receiving feedback. I believe this aspect of the course, above all others is what helped me grow as a teacher and a student. I learned how to take the feedback I was given, and incorporate that feedback in to my work for continuous improvement.
